Gold Coast Blaze - Gold Coast Basketball

The Gold Coast Blaze is a future team in Australia's National Basketball League (NBL). The Gold Coast Blaze will compete in their inaugural season in 2007/08. The club is based on the Gold Coast and will join three other NBL clubs competing from Queensland.

i4U is now a sponsor of the Gold Coast newest sporting team – the Gold Coast Blaze. The NBL’s latest addition to its now 13 team competition needed a hot website to attract interest from potential sponsors and basketball fans.

The Philips Championship has expanded to include a thirteenth team as of season 2007/08 after the NBL Board agreed to grant a new club license to the Gold Coast.

NBL Commissioner Rick Burton announced the historic decision to assembled media at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, which will be the home of the new team, after the NBL Board voted unanimously to allow the Gold Coast to enter the competition in 2007.
